Height lengthening, or limb lengthening, is a general term for surgical or medical methods used to increase a person’s height. Magnetic Intramedullary Nail (MIN) Method<\/strong>: The Magnetic Intramedullary Nail method is a newer technique for limb lengthening and offers a less invasive approach compared to the combined method. This method achieves bone lengthening using specially designed magnetic intramedullary nails. Here are the key features of this method:a. Nail Insertion: Special magnetic intramedullary nails designed for the lengthening procedure are surgically inserted into the bones. These nails contain an internal magnetic mechanism.b. Magnetic Lengthening: The individual activates the magnetic mechanism inside the nails using a magnetic device, either by themselves or under the guidance of a doctor. This causes the nails to extend, initiating the slow process of bone lengthening.c. Healing and Consolidation: As the bones lengthen, the healing and consolidation process begins. This method, too, may take several months.The Magnetic Intramedullary Nail method is less invasive than the combined method and may allow for faster patient recovery. However, both methods come with risks and should be performed under the supervision of a specialist.
